All pupils through the school have complex learning and behavioural needs and all have Education, Health and Care plans that are met through the careful planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.


The role will evolve, and responsibilities may be amended by the Headteacher following consultation with the successful candidate. This job description is not exhaustive, but provides an overview of the breadth and depth of the role:


To teach year groups 1-6

To provide effective leadership and management with curriculum and assessment at Huckleberry Therapeutic school, delivering a safe and secure education provision for pupils with ASD, SEMH and mild learning difficulties.

To manage the educational environment, which supports and motivates pupils with complex needs, whilst they undertake a high quality and aspirational curriculum.

To work as part of SLT to ensure that the school’s overall effectiveness is judged by OFSTED as consistently good or outstanding.

The purpose of the job is to raise the standards of learning and teaching across the school by

developing an innovative curriculum.

The post holder is responsible for setting high expectations for staff and pupils and to coach members of staff to improve pedagogy and assessment.

You will design and lead a robust professional development programme.

You will have been recognised through external assessment or validation for your work in curriculum design and delivery or have proven experience in the field.

The role will be term time only.


Working hours: 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday
