£42,195 - £52,723 per annum

Trinity Multi Academy Trust is proud to have transformed the life chances of thousands of pupils across its existing academies, and our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility run through all aspects of academy life.  Our secondary schools consistently achieve academic results which place them in the top 10% of highest performing schools in the country and receive national and international recognition for the quality of their provision.

In September 2021 Trinity Academy Leeds opened its doors to a founding cohort of 240 Year 7 students from across the city.  We are now seeking a Curriculum Leader - English to join our founding staff team.  We are looking to recruit a strong leader to this crucial role within our academy, a leader who is passionately committed to delivering our shared vision that all TAL students leave us as fluent readers, confident writers and articulate orators. Furthermore, that no student leaves TAL with a reading age below their chronological age and that literacy is never a barrier to achievement.

Our curriculum and outcomes across our family of schools within this subject area are strong, the successful candidate would be able to hit the ground running with superb support from academy and MAT wide subject specialists, yet be afforded the freedom to shape and contextualise the curriculum further to suit the needs of our specific cohort of learners.

Our ideal candidate is a strong leader and classroom practitioner, articulate, passionate and with a breadth and depth of knowledge encompassing both language and literature, they enthuse young people with stories and words and foster a lifelong love of poetry and prose. You should have excellent classroom management skills and set high standards for behaviour and focus and be a strong and influential presence amongst students.

This is an exciting time to join a motivated, friendly and mission aligned founding team in a growing school community with many opportunities to develop in the future.

What we can offer:

• Full support from a dedicated team of senior leaders from around the trust

• A first class Behaviour for Learning system

• Excellent teaching resources

• Career progression and cross-trust working

• An excellent CPD package for all staff, including a further comprehensive programme of professional development provided through the Trinity Institute of Education and West Yorkshire Maths Hub

• A range of staff benefits, including a Cycle to Work scheme, reduced cost health cover and confidential counselling service.

You must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to children and young people, secure in the knowledge that you will be joining an ambitious, forward-thinking Academy Trust that sets the standards for our family of schools and academies.

We are holding a recruitment evening on Wednesday 19th January 2022 (5pm – 7pm) where you will have the opportunity to look around our school, meet some of our amazing team and learn more about the opportunities on offer. We are also holding virtual events on Thursday 20th January (6.00pm–7.00pm or 7:30pm-8:30pm). To register your interest for either event please email recruitment@leeds.trinitymat.org.  Places will be limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Start date:         1 September 2022
