Do you want to be part of a school community on a journey from good to outstanding?
Do you want to make a difference to outcomes for all students?
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Curriculum Leader to join our highly motivated and hardworking Design and Technology team from September 2017. You will have strategic leadership for Engineering, an increasingly popular option choice that the school wishes to further develop. You should be an excellent classroom practitioner and have students at the heart of your decision making. You must also have good knowledge of the Design and Technology curriculum, the recent national changes that have taken place and have the knowledge and experience to teaching D&T at both key stages. We are looking for somebody who is creative and dynamic in the classroom and is able to engage a wide range of students.
Our team has been on an exciting journey over the past two years, with D&T GCSE results increasing last year. We are driven to continue to improve these results over the coming years with the new GCSE specification.
You will be expected to work closely with the Academic Leader in the organisation of the team and will have key responsibilities for the progress of students in both KS3 and KS4 as we move to a more fluid 5 year curriculum. You will also play a key part in developing STEM opportunities across the school and through existing links with a local engineering company.
This is an ideal post for a teacher who aspires to be a Head of Department in the near future.
If you are creative, can lead by example and want to work in a vibrant and progressive environment, we would love to hear from you. You will join a committed, successful and supportive team.
