Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational Curriculum Leader of MFL with strategic vision and enthusiasm to assist in the driving forward of an established and expanding department. The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, with excellent interpersonal skills, who will lead and develop a team ethos capable of driving improvements. Our student demographic brings with it a vast range of first home languages and this adds to the vibrancy and energy within Mount St Mary’s. We recognise wholeheartedly the role languages play in developing the life chances for our students and, consequently, we invite applications from candidates able to offer the dual languages of French and Spanish. Additional language competence would be a welcome addition. We require a Curriculum Leader who is able to teach across the age and ability range up to GCSE in both languages and who will be capable of raising the profile of the department across the whole school, bringing languages to life at every available opportunity and celebrating the diverisity of our community. Achievement in MFL is high, and you will aspire to improve this further, whilst implementing strategic development of the new GCSE syllabus. The successful candidate will play a full part in the life of the school community, will be a form tutor and will contribute to maintaining the strong Catholic character of the school and in fostering the development of students and staff.
