Job overview

Outstanding within outstanding
– are you ready for the challenge?

Trinity Academy is the outstanding flagship school in a new Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). Our vision is to inspire each and every student to achieve their potential through high-quality teaching, provided within an environment led by our Christian values.

We are a growing Multi-Academy Trust, our Executive Principal is a National Leader of Education and we are the lead school in the Trinity Teaching School Alliance and White Rose Maths Hub.

In July 2013 we were judged ‘outstanding’ in every category by Ofsted and we have continued to strive to be considered ‘outstanding within outstanding’. We gained MAT status in late 2015 and expect our Trust to expand in the near future.

All of these fantastic and exciting initiatives require the expertise and commitment of dedicated teaching staff and key to our continuing success is the quality of teaching, supported by a robust CPD package.

At Trinity Academy we understand and value the impact of an inspiring, imaginative and strong leader and we are looking to appoint a Curriculum Leader to lead the Humanities department. You will be expected to lead and manage the curriculum area by providing strategic direction as to what learning in the area will look like in the future; encouraging innovation and research and evaluating student performance, and leading on strategies that increase achievement.

You will be able to teach across all key stages and will be passionate about education, able to lead a team and be fully committed to optimising the transformation opportunities that we can offer. You will want to drive changes in teaching and learning, and be confident about the impact you can make as a leader, on student achievement and the academy’s reputation.

Start date: September 2016

Closing date: 19 February 2016

Interviews: w/c 22 February 2016

Trinity Academy Halifax is the founding academy of Trinity Multi Academy Trust. It opened in 2010 and since that time has secured two Ofsted 'outstanding' judgements as well as being designated as a National Support School, a National Teaching School (leading the Trinity Institute of Education) and a Maths Hubs of Excellence (leading West Yorkshire Maths Hub).  In 2019 we were awarded the World Class Schools quality mark.

In 2012 the academy moved into a new building; the fantastic, state of the art facilities enable the academy to provide a world-class learning environment to nurture potential and prepare students for life.

Trinity Academy Halifax is consistently the highest performing school in Calderdale and its GCSE results have placed the school in the top 5% of similar schools nationally.

The academy places staff development and teaching and learning at the heart if all it does. Its innovative and unique CPD programme encourages inspirational teaching and learning and supports all teachers, whatever stage in their career, to develop their craft and progress professionally. Comprehensive pastoral systems are embedded to ensure the behaviour of students is consistently outstanding and they are happy and supported in their learning.

As an academy we have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves. We set high standards and aim to display these in all that we do. Working for Trinity Academy Halifax is rewarding and we can offer a range of opportunities to progress. These ambitions are shared across all schools within the trust.
