About the Academy

North Gosforth Academy is a small secondary school from Year 7 through to Year 11 with a strong focus on providing high quality education in a safe, happy and caring environment. Community is at the heart of what we do. Each student is a valued member of the academy and we take pride in giving them opportunities which will allow them to thrive as an individual, both academically and holistically. Students receive a first-class education from our team of enthusiastic, dedicated teachers and our pastoral and support staff. We have high expectations of both ourselves and of our students, and we strive to develop their talents and help them succeed.

About the role

First and foremost, we are looking for someone who loves MFL and is passionate, proactive and innovative. Our successful and enthusiastic MFL department (Spanish and Chinese) has a well-designed curriculum, enthusiastic students and well-resourced facilities. We need someone who is ready to take the department into its next exciting phase. You may already be a subject leader or a second in subject, or you may be ready to take your first step into subject leadership. You will have a proven record of raising attainment and accelerating progress, whilst demonstrating effective and exciting teaching and learning.

The MFL department is on an exciting journey and this is your chance to build a team of specialists and to shape the vision of the department. We have a strong team of practitioners at North Gosforth Academy who are able to be versatile and are keen to be involved in many and varied aspects of school life. You will be an important part of our growing school and will be a consummate professional, practical and ‘hands-on’; able to enthuse and motivate colleagues and students alike.
