Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College. We are looking for a curriculum leader in Level 2 Transitions to join the team on a temporary basis. 

This is a temporary role for 12 months covering a maternity leave working a total of 35 hours per week.  This role will be based at our Accrington and Rossendale although occasional travel to other sites may be required.

Main duties include:

• Lead the Transitions curriculum teams and work alongside the HoD to ensure teaching, learning and development are of outstanding quality in line with relevant curriculum development 

• Take responsibility for achieving targets in retention, attendance, achievements, high grades, added value and student satisfaction

• Support the HoD in ensuring professional development activities are appropriately planned for the team and the individuals within the team

• Hold regular curriculum team meetings, lead curriculum tutors and ensure effective communication

• Coordinate staffing for internal and external events, including interviews, open events etc.

• Be responsible for standardisation/verification and moderation, as required

• Ensure provision is aligned with internal and external partners to ensure best practice

The ideal candidate will have:

• Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification

• Recognised teaching qualification 

• Compliance with CPD requirements

• A higher degree or advanced qualification (desirable) 

• Successful teaching experience in a relevant subject area  

• Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver and lead the curriculum successfully
