Curriculum Leader of Computer Science (£3,000 R&R Bonus)

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Curriculum Leader of Computer Science. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher of computing who is seeking additional responsibility.

The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher of computing - articulate, inspiring, confident and supportive with effective people management skills. The candidate will have energy and drive in abundance with the ability and determination to propel student outcomes and to take digital learning at Carleton High School forwards to the next level.

Carleton High School is an 11-16 school in Pontefract with over 1000 students on roll which has been on a journey of significant improvement in recent years. This has resulted in a Good Ofsted judgement (2019), record GCSE results, recognition as the most improved school in the North of England and in the top 3 schools within the Local Authority for student progress in 2022. The school is committed to improving further and there is a fantastic opportunity to join as a Curriculum Leader and to be a key part of the team, building on this success so that the school continues its journey to become Outstanding.

Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross phase Multi Academy Trust, comprising of eight schools, six primary schools and two 11 – 16 secondary schools. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. Students are drawn from the local community that includes a mix of different catchment areas.

This is a 1 FTE, permanent contract.

A recruitment and retention allowance of up to £3,000 will be available for an exceptional candidate.
