Job overview

At Longley Park Sixth Form we want to inspire students to embrace their independence and achieve their ambitions. How?  By offering learning experiences that go way beyond simply helping them pass exams. Instead, we give them skills and experiences that will last a lifetime.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Curriculum Leader for Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all areas of Science including A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering and Applied Science courses at Level 2 and Level 3.  We also offer GCSE Human Biology.

This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational teacher to help the Sixth Form build on recent successes and further raise aspirations and outcomes. Applications are invited from ambitious, enthusiastic and well-motivated teachers who have a proven track-record in securing outstanding outcomes for their students.

Longley Park Sixth Form is a 16-19 academy and proud to be part of the Brigantia Learning Trust.  Based in North East Sheffield, Brigantia Learning Trust provides 2-19+ learning pathways for local children and young people with an ethos of high expectations and support.  We are especially proud of our diverse and inclusive learning environment.  Longley Park is a melting pot of ideas, beliefs, cultures and languages – just like the world. It’s a perfect example of the great ideas that can come to life when we listen to each other, share opinions and work together.

Students’ individuality and aspirations are just as important to us as academic success, which is why we foster their personal curiosity and creativity. We believe in what we do – because the way we teach our students should be as unique as they are.   We know this vision requires something extra.  If you share our values we would love to hear from you.

We can offer:

  • A hardworking and committed department
  • An excellent learning environment
  • Fantastic students
  • High quality professional development and support
  • Opportunities to work with colleagues across an ambitious and forward-thinking 2-18+ Sheffield Trust
  • A chance to make a real difference to the lives of young people

We welcome contact from anyone considering applying to Longley Park Sixth Form and encourage prospective applicants to visit the Academy to meet the outstanding student body.
