Job overview

Can you inspire a generation of graphic, fashion and product designers, Sculptors and Fine Artists? This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking, well-resourced and highly productive creative industries school, leading and managing the curriculum for the Art & Design Department. We provide highly creative young people with the skills needed for careers across the art and design sector and have a vast alumni of successful and professional working artists.

We are proud of our continued success and growth in this area. Our ambitious approach to highly practical vocational learning at level 2 through to L6 BA(Hons), and desire to develop new provision results in our students progressing both internally and to art schools and HE institutions like LCF, CSM, LCC and UCA to name a few.

You will have an excellent proven track record of coordinating teaching, learning and assessment and development of practical and vocational programmes from a mixture of awarding bodies as well as a current and strong understanding of curriculum opportunities and developments in creative arts (and FE education). We deliver UALAB Level 2 to 4 courses in Art & Design, Fashion, FAD, as well as Access to HE and HN courses.

As a capable and strategic curriculum manager, you will coordinate and line manage a diverse and exceptionally skilled and experienced team. Delivering courses in partnership with other institutions, you will also have a strong ability to develop productive relationships with your colleagues, learners and new opportunities with external partners and other areas in the school and college. Your ideas of how employable skills can be creatively included in the curriculum and assessing learner progress will be innovative and motivating as well as thorough.
