The purpose of the role is to lead and inspire the area of Construction Crafts, to provide excellent teaching and learning and an outstanding experience for learners.

The success of learners will be your key driver and this will be measured through high success rates, high quality teaching and learning, student satisfaction surveys and working with individuals to ensure continuous improvement in standards across the school.

You will be accountable for the curriculum and for carrying out observations in line with the Teaching, Learning and Assessment observation policy, staff appraisals and development. You will also be responsible for the efficient utilisation of resources and you will contribute to the planning, implementation, monitoring and managing of the schools business plan in line with Government and Stakeholder strategies and initiatives.

You will be part of the School of Construction and Building Services reporting directly to the Head of School.

The role will require you to take on and work to the college’s values; working with Professionalism, taking Responsibility for your actions, and giving Respect to clients and colleagues alike.

This post has a teaching commitment of 209 hours per year within Construction Crafts.

Vision West Nottinghamshire College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Nottinghamshire serving students from the age of 16 and above. The college has approximately 1,200  full and part-time students attending every year. The college has six sites based in Ashfield and Mansfield. 

Vision West Nottinghamshire College was established as a Technical College in 1928. It was renamed Vision West Nottinghamshire College in 2011. Facilities across the campuses include an engineering innovation centre, art and design centre, sports hall, a hair and beauty training salon and a training restaurant for catering and hospitality students to train in.
