We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Maths leader to cover for our curriculum manager while she is on maternity leave.

To be the successful applicant you will be an outstanding practitioner with the essential leadership qualities and experience to drive improvements in teaching and learning and raise standards across all key stages.

The Maths team is extremely hard working, talented and determined to ensure all our students achieve positive outcomes. The Maths leadership team includes a lead practitioner who is working across PTSA (Plymouth Teaching School Alliance) as an SLE to develop mastery in Maths plus Key Stage Raising Standards leads. Other colleagues have a range of experiences, but all are committed to putting students first in their quest to provide the best Mathematics learning experiences.

Your role:

  • To lead improvement in teaching and learning of Maths across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
  • To monitor the quality of teaching based on evidence, self-evaluation and development ensuring a consistent and continuous focus on achievement and aspiration.
  • To provide support for individual Maths teachers, where this is needed, so all lessons are consistently good or better.
