The City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College is a thriving, lively and successful Sixth Form College, committed to social inclusion. The College is located in an award-winning, state of the art building at the heart of the University Quarter of Stoke on Trent, adjacent to Stoke Railway Station, providing excellent travel links.

In September 2017, the College achieved academy status as part of the Potteries Educational Trust. The Trust is working collaboratively with educational institutions from across Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and beyond, seeking to improve outcomes for all children and young people in the region.

Curriculum Manager of Geography and Geology (Earth Sciences)

Salary: SFCA Main Scale (£22,937 - £38,364 per annum)
plus a responsibility allowance of up to £2,500 per annum.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and successful teacher who will take overall responsibility for the leadership, quality improvement and development of the Geography and Geology curriculum area. This is an exciting opportunity for the person appointed to lead a successful and well-resourced department at a time of growth and opportunities.

The Sixth Form College is a leading provider of A Level Geography as evidenced by positive value added that is ranked very highly nationally. The subject continues to grow and has excellent relationships with local HE partners and external agencies that support the delivery of learning inside and outside of the classroom. Within Geology we have developed strong links with the local Geological Society and are currently involved in a teaching and learning project aimed at introducing and growing GCSE Geology from September 2018.
