Holyport College is a unique school and a fun place to work. We are a state boarding school (with around 40% of our students boarding) and we are honoured to be partnered with Eton College which is just down the road. We are a community founded on the belief that young people who love and value their education will be successful, both academically and personally, and that, through nurture, self-discipline and opportunity, all young people can learn to develop a genuine zest for learning.

We are looking to appoint a Curriculum Support Officer dedicated to either the Maths or Science department, to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under a system of supervision and to provide support to the pastoral team in the daily care of students.

The Curriculum Support Department at Holyport College is composed of 12 dedicated, well-trained internal members of staff, who possess a variety of specialisms. Our provision is supplemented by a number of highly qualified external practitioners. The Department is responsible for supporting class teachers to ensure that the needs of all students are met. We provide training for all teaching staff on Curriculum Support matters and we work closely with the College’s Examinations Officer to ensure that the correct access arrangements are in place. The Department ensures that Education, Health and Care Plans are accurately implemented.

HIGH ASPIRATIONS, TRADITIONAL VALUES

Holyport College was founded under the Government’s free school programme as the UK’s first State Boarding free school and is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 11 – 19 years, providing an outstanding, all-round education, opening in 2014.

Approximately 45% of our pupils are boarders and accordingly we operate a longer school day than traditional day schools, offering a full and varied co-curriculum to all students with many activities taking place in the evening or at weekends, as well as in the afternoons.

From 11-16 we are a fully comprehensive school teaching our traditional academic curriculum to students from across the ability range. At Sixth Form, we are academically selective, offering an aspirational academic pathway with entry criteria to match. Our aim is to prepare students for study at the best universities in the world, including Russell Group and Oxbridge. Our students are happy, well-motivated and are making exceptional progress. Our school is a community in which parents, carers, students and staff work together to ensure the best possible outcomes, not just academically but for the development of our students as human beings. Our staff are listened to and valued.

We are honoured to have as our educational sponsor, Eton College. Eton’s fine traditions, its educational expertise and exceptional pastoral care help us to create a school where students aspire, achieve and succeed and provide staff CPD opportunities through our partnership. And yet we are forging our own path and identity to become one of the country’s best schools.

Set in an idyllic semi-rural location, yet close to major transport networks, Holyport College is easily accessible. We are only a few miles from M4 motorway, 10 minutes from Maidenhead main line station which serves Paddington, 15 minutes from Windsor stations, serving Waterloo and Slough and 25 minutes drive to Heathrow airport.
