We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed practitioner to lead our team of dedicated Spanish and French teaching staff who are determined to make a difference to the lives and futures of our young people. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to really have an impact and shape the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum, as the school continues on its journey of improvement.

We are seeking to recruit a Curriculum Team Leader of MFL to:

  • Ensure the quality of teaching and learning continues to meet the high aspirations of our learners, providing them with the skills, knowledge and qualifications required for success in their chosen next steps
  • Innovate and develop an inclusive, inspiring and enriching MFL curriculum
  • Develop and maintain a rigorous system of monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of teaching and learning  and student outcomes across the curriculum
  • Inspire more students to continue studying a modern foreign language at GCSE level.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Evidence of successful MFL teaching at KS3 and KS4

Please note that our preference is for a Spanish specialist who can also teach French to at least KS3, but we will consider a suitably qualified French specialist with KS3 Spanish and a willingness to develop their KS4 Spanish.

  • An ability to develop and sustain successful relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Recent, relevant professional leadership development

Please note that wherever possible, we always seek to ensure that full-time teaching staff have their own allocated classroom.
