Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Technician to provide support and assistance to our Art and Design and PE departments. This is a busy role and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, administrative tasks; liaising with Heads of Department and teachers regarding specific requirements; maintaining stock levels of department consumables and reordering as necessary; maintaining equipment, printing and photocopying subject resources; providing support for school visits and events, and supporting in the classroom during practical lessons.

Our technicians play a pivotal role in the day to day running of our departments and it is essential that the successful candidate is confident in providing support in a multi-disciplinary capacity. This is an interesting and varied position and will require an individual who is practical, able to deal with competing demands and who has good organisational and inter-personal skills. The role would be well suited to someone who is pro-active, self-driven and able to organise their own workload.

We are based in central Milton Keynes, an area that continues to grow and thrive at a rapid rate. The Milton Keynes Academy joined Creative Education Trust in September 2018. This has enabled the school to continue its rigorous pursuit of rapid improvement for the children it teaches.

Our staff are inspirational and caring. The pupils are at the heart of everything we do and if you share our vision of Opportunities for Everyone and are suitably qualified for the role, then we would love to hear from you!

We are an equal opportunities employer. MKA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, we expect all staff to share this commitment. References from previous employers will be requested for short-listed applicants prior to interview.
