Are you looking to develop your career into data management?

This role will mainly focus upon maintaining and updating our schools management information system (SIMS), as well as providing general administrative and reception support. It is a varied role, but one which does requires strong IT skills and experience.

We are a new secondary school and from September 2017 we will grow to 350 pupils in Years 7 & 8. We anticipate that as the school grows we will have a future need for a role which focuses solely on data management and so are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate and show the potential to be considered for this. We anticipate this need will arise when we commence exams and as student capacity increases.

Whilst SIMS experience is not required, transferable experience of using and managing large scale databases is essential - ideally within an IT environment.

With your solid IT background you will navigate and exploit all areas of SIMS for maximum gain, from creating template reports, bulk entry of data to mail merge functionality.

As well as maximising the system’s potential, you will also lead on data entry particularly around admission/assessment periods. You will have an aptitude for fast and accurate data entry, with an eye for detail.

You will ensure data is routinely cleansed and validated and produce Census outputs for DFE, as well as supporting the annual admissions data transfer. Additionally, you will create system templates for data capture, maintain and update the assessment area of SIMS and produce mark sheets to meet the data collection needs of the school.

The role will also involve a range of administrative activities and the provision of first class customer service on our school reception.

We are looking for someone who has a flexible, friendly approach to their work, an aptitude for working with databases, a curious, resilient and problem solving approach to challenges/new situations and strong customer service skills when supporting both internal and external customers.

To apply click ‘Apply Now’. Please ensure your supporting statement field is no longer than 1000 words and provides an explanation of any periods where you have not been in education, employment or training. It is your opportunity to tell us a little bit about yourself, why you are attracted to this post and any other details which you think are relevant. CVs are not accepted.

Closing date: 20 May 2017. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

Bohunt School Wokingham is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

Bohunt School Wokingham opened its doors to Year 7 pupils in 2016. Having grown substantially since then, we are now heavily oversubscribed, with a school roll of 1200 students aged 11-16. With the exciting announcement of our expansion to include a sixth form and additional spaces in all year groups, we will soon see more students through to 18.

Our ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’ underpins our vision to give all students an outstanding education and develop skills in the classroom and beyond. These core values help our students flourish throughout their school career, and on into later life. Reflective of the success achieved in its first three years, Ofsted recognised that the “overall educational experience for many pupils at the school is ‘life-changing’.”

Our new site has been designed and built with education at the forefront and includes specialist teaching spaces and a whole school one to one iPad provision, as well a wide range of sports and extra-curricular provision. We are leaders in outdoor education with an outdoor classroom, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Big Expeditions to wilderness locations, alongside a variety of other trips at home and abroad.

We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with eight schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility. We may be separated geographically, however, all BET schools are student centred, sharing an uncompromising belief in high achievement and unconditional positive expectations, a real sense of community and a dynamic, innovative approach to education.

Candidates are welcome to visit the school to discuss any roles and gain a sense of our educational ethos and culture.
