About the role

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and professional Data and Exams Officer.

An exciting opportunity to join a professional and purposeful central IT & Data team to support the ongoing development of a successful Academy in Grimsby.

The strongest candidates will be committed to attaining the highest standards for students in the Trust. We are looking for someone to make an impact in working as part of a nationwide Central IT & Data Team, the ideal candidate will have the full support of the team but bring in their own experience and ideas to ensure our Bromcom MIS system is fully embedded in school and remains the core system for improving children’s outcomes.

The post holder will also coordinate the administrative and compliance elements of qualification registration, award claims and exams. You would take a strategic lead for all aspects of the school examination process. This includes implementation of new elements of Bromcom MIS. To work strategically with the Senior leadership team to use school performance data to improve standards. To comply with the policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection. You would be ensuring all MIS and Data systems are effective, efficient and provide timely insights.

To be successful in this role you will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, experienced in processing data quickly and accurately and have a methodical and organised approach to your work. You’ll also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Who we are looking for

Knowledge and understanding of awarding organisations and the regulatory framework for administering examinations equivalent to national qualifications at level 4.

Knowledge of the management of a broad range of examination procedures and systems, awarding organisations, and invigilation procedures.

Knowledge and use of relevant data management information systems relevant to DfE, OFQUAL and OFSTED and performance measures.

Knowledge and understanding of Data Protection, Safeguarding and confidentiality issues.

Analytical skills for interpreting data and information.

Proven experience in the provision of information and communicating with academy staff, parents, carers, pupils and external examination boards on examination issues.

Establish and maintain effective and constructive relationships across the Area academies with Improvement Cluster Leads, Principals, staff members, pupils, parents and carers, communicating with them as appropriate to share information, and inform them of academy data collection through daily contacts and written communications.

Proven experience in an examination role with excellent communication skills at a range of levels.  Competent and able to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and follow multi-step instructions.

Proven experience in maintaining accurate records and the safe storage of confidential information.

About Havelock Academy

Located in the town of Grimsby, Lincolnshire, Havelock Academy is a co-educational secondary school. Havelock has around 1000 pupils aged 11-18, making it slightly larger than the average secondary school. The school has an economically diverse catchment area, a fact reflected in its student intake. Originally known as Havelock school, it was established in the 1960s, adopting its current name in 2007 upon its conversion to an academy. The school is part of the David Ross Education Trust, a multi-academy trust responsible for a large number of schools across the Midlands and the north of England.
