We are seeking to appoint a well-organised individual to lead and manage the administration of assessment and data which involves collation of student attainment and assessment data. An in-depth knowledge and experience of assessment and reporting is essential. The successful candidate will be working alongside the leadership team to provide strategic leadership and effective management in the development of student data and reporting systems, as well as working with all staff at all levels and with the governing body. You will have an in depth working knowledge of MIS systems; Bromcom would be preferable and be able to use RAISE online.

You will be responsible for:

  • Design, creation and maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date management information system
  • SATs and CATs data
  • Future estimates
  • External results data
  • Internal attainment grades
  • Reports
  • Set-making
  • Identifying groups of pupils and identifying underachievement
  • Liaising with and briefing senior leaders, governors, heads of department and exam officers on the interpretation and implication of data

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills, Make the complex appear simple, communicate well to a range of audiences, be highly ICT literate and proficient user of Excel and other databases, analyse and present data accurately to a range of stakeholders, be well organised with a good eye for detail have an outstanding attendance and punctuality record, resilience and have a good sense of humour!

Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy is an 11-18 comprehensive school in the north-west of Birmingham. Our student intake is from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, making for a very harmonious and happy school. Our Ofsted inspection in May 2014 graded the academy as Outstanding, stating that “the academy provides an exceptionally high quality of education, which results in students making outstanding progress.’

Recent Exam Successes

Our students continue to achieve strong results:

Year 13 (2024): 96% overall pass rate, with the majority securing university places, apprenticeships, or employment.

Year 11 (2024): Strong GCSE outcomes, with 69% achieving a grade 4+ in English and Maths, and an Attainment 8 score of 49.9.

In Years 7 to 11, we maintain a Planned Admission Number (PAN) of 175 students per year, aligning with Birmingham City Council's non-selective admissions policy. Our Sixth Form offers a range of academic and vocational courses for girls aged 16 to 18, attracting both internal students and external candidates from across Birmingham and the Black Country. Our curriculum is broad and continually enhanced through collaborations with other King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham schools.
