Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Management and Maintenance of Bromcom Management Information System for all aspects of Academy life;
  • Supporting data input and report generation for Student Assessment/SSS/Demographics/Behaviour student information;
  • To complete end of year ‘roll up’ (this to include integration of Year 7 data; Parent Pay and SAM Learning transference);
  • Leading in staff training on all aspects of Bromcom;
  • To organise the cover on Bromcom each morning, ensuring that this is completed in an efficient and accurate manner;
  • To liaise with Federation approved agencies ensuring external cover costs are kept to a minimum;
  • To support the Principal’s PA/ Resources Manager on ensuring the workforce census is accurate and Census return is submitted annually;
  • To support the Federation ICT team to ensure the systems for student’s access (swipe cards/fingerprints) are linked to the Bromcom system; 
  • To create and maintain school timetable with consideration of each subject area’s needs. 
  • To ensure accuracy of School Census returns;
  • Liaison between the Academy and Federation MIS Manager, disseminating information as required.
  • To have oversight of the annual calendar of assessment and reporting.
  • Prompting and reminding Academy staff on the portal opening for input of data in liaison with the Assistant Principals responsible for Assessment.
  • To generate targets for all students in all subjects in line with assessment policy, including in-year admissions
  • Check student reports and ensure they are sent out to parents/carers in line with the assessment calendar 
  • Responsible for all student data relating to assessment, recording and reporting of attainment and progress.
  • To have overview of accurate printing and distribution of Bromcom reports including student reports, reports for tracking of student progress by admin staff.
  • To present analysis of assessment data to Academy SLT in appropriate format.
  • Responsible for creating student tracking sheets for teaching groups, that show agreed baseline data.
  • To supply data as requested by Academy SLT.
  • To liaise with Post 16 team to ensure that correct student performance data is accurate and accessible
  • Under the direction of the SLT, undertake such other tasks that may be required to further the efficient running of the Academy, commensurate with the level of the post holder;
  • To support in central administration whenever required;
  • To be responsible for own professional development, identifying training needs and requesting courses as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to an appropriate level of education
  • Trained in the use of a variety of ICT packages
  • Knowledge of school software packages
  • Training in development of school image and promotion of community use
  • At least a year working in school or educational establishment;
  • Working in an inner city school
  • Experience of successfully organising and managing Academy events e.g. open evenings
  • Experience of managing a team of admin staff
  • Experience of working to targets and deadlines
  • Developing admin policies process and procedures
  • Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate exceptionally well with parents and carers as well as other stakeholders in the Academy
  • Ability to manage own workload and on own initiatives
  • Ability to develop quality control systems
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with a wide range of people, from parents, governors, pupils to outside agencies
  • Commitment to promoting equality and diversity
  • Empathy with the aims and objectives of the Harris Federation
