Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Manager to play a key role delivering a high-quality data management and reporting service at Emanuel School.

As Data Manager you will be responsible for establishing and delivering data reporting and management across the school, overseeing the school’s databases and management of data warehousing, data pools and servers. You will also lead on a range of projects to develop and support the websites and databases that underpin the school’s communication and development strategies.

You will be responsible for supporting mainly MS SQL databases, creating complex reports and publishing reports to the report server, using SSIS, SSRS and Power BI along with other data tools. You will also be a key user and driver of enhancements to the school’s main MIS system (iSAMS) as well as the school’s e-learning platform (Firefly).

Confidence in using SQL databases, producing SSRS reports, and developing Power BI dashboards and manipulating and analysing data is essential, as is a meticulous approach to data checking.

About Emanuel School

“The school whole-heartedly fulfils its aims to inspire endeavour, confidence and ambition in its pupils.”

ISI Inspection Report April 2023

Welcome to Emanuel

We are a vibrant, fully co-educational school of over 1,100 pupils aged 10–18, supported by more than 200 dedicated teaching and support staff. Emanuel is a community driven by aspiration: our pupils, colleagues, and families share a commitment to excellence, personal growth, and lifelong learning.

This ambition is reflected in our record-breaking achievements. In 2025, 46% of GCSE grades were awarded the top grade 9, with 75% at 9–8 and 91% at 9–7 – the best results in the school’s history. At A Level, over 70% of grades were A*–A, with nearly a third awarded A*. Emanuel is now recognised as one of the leading fully co-educational schools in the country. The latest ISI Inspection report stated: “Pupils make excellent progress across the range of subjects and significant value is added to their academic outcomes.”

Our aspirations extend far beyond the classroom. We nurture talent in every field, with a deep commitment to sport, the arts, and STEM. We invest significantly in our facilities, including a £30 million STEM and Refectory building currently underway, which will provide state-of-the-art science labs, maths classrooms, and vibrant social spaces. Our creative arts provision has earned national recognition, including the Independent School of the Year for Performing Arts (2023), while our work in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion won the Talk Education Award (2024).

Connection lies at the heart of Emanuel life. Our thriving partnerships programme creates meaningful links with the wider community, welcoming over 1,000 primary school children to our site each month to learn alongside our pupils. This work was recognised with the Independent School of the Year Award for Community Outreach (2021).

Empathy shapes our culture. Emanuel is a positive and welcoming environment where every individual is valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive. Our talented and dedicated colleagues share a belief in the power of kindness, collaboration, and personal fulfilment. Together, we ensure that staff and pupils alike enjoy a sense of belonging and shared achievement.

We wish you the very best of luck with your application.
