William Edwards School is looking to appoint a talented teacher and exceptional leader to lead our highly committed Geography Department. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is highly motivated and have a real passion for Geography and for developing the subject and colleagues.

 

The Department Lead will form the backbone of the teaching and learning development work in the school and are well supported by both an experienced Deputy Headteacher and Director of Humanities. All Department Leaders have responsibilities both within and beyond their department and therefore the role provides outstanding professional development opportunities as well as providing an excellent opportunity for an ambitious colleague to develop their leadership skills further.

 

This is a key appointment and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in raising achievement in both key stages and supporting colleagues to further improve teaching and learning. We are looking for someone with a proven track record to join the team and who has the drive, passion and commitment to raise the profile of the subject.

SWECET is a growing, cross phase Multi Academy Trust, established in 2015 to serve the needs of its communities.  SWECET currently has three ‘Good’ primary schools, one ‘Outstanding’ secondary and one ‘RI’ Secondary that joined the Trust in April 2017.   The Trust believes that schools should be unique and individual institutions with distinct character and that through effective partnership we can challenge, support and learn from each other in order to raise standards and provide exceptional opportunities for all our young people.   It is an exciting time to be joining SWECET with all schools continually striving to be better.
