Job overview

As a key member of the senior management team, you will have a pivotal role to play in implementing that strategy and in driving the improvement in educational standards and outcomes.

The role:

  • Professional lead for the support to and challenge of schools;
  • Enable schools to build capacity to self-improve;
  • Secure improvements through effective regional and internal collaboration;
  • Tackle poor school performance through well-judged interventions;
  • Ensure that education services are inclusive, and that learners are safeguarded;
  • Manage resources efficiently.

The person:

  • Qualified education professional with proven managerial ability;
  • Substantial experience in the education sphere, including leading and developing services at LEA and / or school level;
  • Well developed analytical skills and evaluative judgement, coupled with a thorough understanding of successful approaches to school challenge and intervention;
  • Ability to build trust and forge constructive relationships with local schools, regional partners, and regulators;
  • A strong commitment to inclusivity and safeguarding.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but not essential.
