Job overview

The role of the Deputy Director of Education will be primarily to support leaders across the MAT to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils.

We currently have 18 primary schools and one secondary school based across three Local Authorities across the Midlands.  There are over 4000 pupils within those schools, many of whom are vulnerable due to disadvantage.

Our Deputy Director of Education will support the Director of Education and the School Improvement Team in securing improved outcomes for all of our pupils, but particularly our most vulnerable, whilst ensuring that the MAT’s vision and values are upheld, especially regarding ensuring pupils receive an education that delivers ‘life in its fullness’.  It is anticipated that the Deputy Director of Education will take a strategic lead on Inclusion across the Trust although this is negotiable.

This role will be operational as well as strategic, working with colleagues in our schools to ensure our vision is delivered.  You will support the Director of Education in identifying where the issues are and how the schools may be best supported.  Being able to build and maintain relationships is essential, particularly given the robust discussions that at times are needed. The role will also involve analysing data, comparing groups, identifying where the vulnerabilities lie and determining how to address those vulnerabilities; therefore, an understanding of data is essential.

We hope this is an exciting proposition for a passionate leader committed to making a difference.
