A unique opportunity to join an Outstanding Academy
We are looking for an inspirational individual to join our forward thinking, innovative and dynamic academy to ensure our Outstanding provision is not only retained but is also built upon. The successful candidate will play a key role in the leadership of the academy’s outstanding English Department, working alongside the Director of English. The English Department has a strong track record of Outstanding results and has narrowed the gap significantly in terms of the progress of disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged students.
Judged Outstanding for the first time in 2009 and re-designated as Outstanding in every Ofsted category in May 2013 we have a track record of excellence both in terms of student outcomes and professional development. Working within the nationally renowned GORSE Academies Trust led by Sir John Townsley we were awarded Teaching School Status in March 2012 and in September 2015 our School Centred Initial Teacher Training Centre opened supporting the development of over 90 trainee teachers. On 1 December 2016 The Morley Academy was officially recognised as a World Class School, one of only 48 in the country.
Our examination results are extremely impressive and includes value added data which places us amongst the top performing schools nationally. In 2016 the academy’s unvalidated Progress 8 figure, which is the measure that compares the performance of students from similar starting points across a range of eight different subjects nationally, is 0.41 meaning that, on average, students achieve almost half a grade higher in each of their GCSE subjects than other students nationally.
This role represents an incredibly exciting opportunity for any candidate who is eager to play a key role in an organisation that seeks to secure the very highest educational standards for students. Our students receive Outstanding pastoral care, support and guidance and we would expect any successful candidate to be of a mind-set where they believe anything is possible. Likewise our professional body also benefits from Outstanding CPD and support which is personalised to your particular needs and experience.
If you are excited about the prospect of this rare opportunity we would be delighted to hear from you.
