Does the following matter to you?

  • Having access and support from a high performing academy trust
  • Working in an academy that is committed to clear routines and a simple (non-negotiable) behaviour system

This Deputy Director of English role is a great opportunity for an experienced English teacher looking for a new challenge in a high-potential school. Regardless of where you are at in your career, they will provide you with the necessary professional development and support to enable you to be a great leader at the Academy. As their reputation grows and improves in the local community, they are looking for the leaders of the future to be part of their exciting journey.

Charter is a special place in the heart of the city. They are an academy with ambition, with heritage and most importantly an academy where faith is important. They are on a tremendous journey, growing exponentially, and bursting with opportunities.

At Charter they understand that to be successful, they must provide their students with the highest level of challenge and the highest expectations of behaviour. Their academy is disciplined, never shying away from being responsible for their actions. At Charter their vision is that their students grow to be confident, articulate and resilient young people, assured in their strength of courage, value of justice and necessity of respect.

This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers.

Their ideal candidate will be:

  • An aspiring leader looking to make a difference and contributing to the exciting journey the academy is on
  • Organised and have an eye for detail
  • A team player who can both lead and be led
  • Committed to ongoing professional development for oneself and the English team

About their school:

The Academy is a happy and vibrant school located minutes away from the seafront. They believe that every young person should feel a sense of belonging to their school community and enjoy their learning.

They inspire and support their students so they can become the very best they can in every single way. With love and care, they develop motivation both inside and outside the classroom, encouraging an appetite for learning in a safe and stimulating Christian environment. They want their students to become the leaders and game-changers of the future. To achieve this, they offer an academic curriculum that strives to expose all pupils to the richness of education, allowing them to experience a diversity of subjects during their time with them. They believe every child is entitled to disruption-free learning and pride themselves on creating a learning environment that is calm and focused.

They offer:
