Allestree Woodlands School is a popular and successful 11-18 school, providing high quality education for 1350 students (210 in the sixth form). The school is situated on the northern edge of the city of Derby in a very pleasant setting overlooking the Kedleston Hall National Trust estate. We work as a great team together and are committed to the continuing professional development of all colleagues.
We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Director of Technology (Lead for Computing) from September 2021 or sooner if possible.
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who is optimistic in approach and committed to enabling students to make the best progress. In return, we offer a warm and friendly school where teachers and students have positive working relationships.
The successful candidate will join our ambitious and improving technologies faculty which comprised computing, business and D&T (including product design, food/nutrition and engineering). We offer computing and digital media and uptake to IT pathways at GSCE and A-level has increased over the past year. We are looking for a lead for computing who is a willing and capable deputy director across the faculty; knowledge, understanding or expertise in business studies is desirable but not essential. The school offers a very personally and professionally supportive environment.
