This exciting opportunity arises with the retirement of the Director of Studies and a review of the school's strategic direction.

The Deputy Head Academic position is suited to someone with a strong background in excellent teaching and a vision for what an effective and exciting curriculum should look like.

West Buckland is a school founded in 1858 intended to offer an excellent education based on Christian values.  It stands in nearly 100 acres of grounds, surrounded by farmland, near the western edge of Exmoor and within easy reach of the magnificent Atlantic coast and famed beaches of North Devon.  Its rural location is outstandingly beautiful. 

The Deputy Head Academic is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and as such is responsible to the Headmaster for all matters relating to the academic vision of the Senior School and West Buckland School Online.

The Governors and Senior Leadership Team are currently developing links to launch West Buckland School on-line at the start of Autumn term 2021. The Deputy Head Academic will play a central role in the delivery of this project.
