Laude Palacio de Granda School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Head Academic to lead and develop learning, enabling pupils to learn to levels that amaze them and to lead and collaborate with a team of dedicated and outstanding teachers. 

Laude Palacio de Granda is part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP) which was founded in 2012. ISP is a global family of schools, with schools worldwide, that share a passion for learning. Palacio de Granda is a co-educational international day and boarding school for pupils aged 1-18, following the Spanish National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum. Situated in a semirural environment close to Oviedo, the school has 550 students mainly from Spain but also other countries. The school is bilingual with approximately 50% of the teaching in Spanish and 50% in English. 

The school is looking to appoint a Deputy Head teacher who will

About Laude Palacio de Granda School

Palacio de Granda was founded in 1975 by family owners who grew the school stage by stage to have children of all ages from 1-18 by the mid 1980s. In 1998, a modern boarding facility was built to accommodate weekly and full boarders. In 2007-8 Colegio Palacio de Granda was incorporated into the Laude chain of schools in Spain and UK. In 2014 the Laude schools became part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP).

Palacio de Granda offers a bilingual spanish-english environment covering the spanish national curriculum with students sitting university entrance examinations at the end of 2º Bachillerato for Spain or other international universities. The school is a Cambridge Examinations centre offering English Language examinations. Pupils also sit French and German language examinations. The curriculum is enhanced with the addition of the International Primary Curriculum and subjects such as french or german, computing, drama, public speaking and robotics. The pupils from 5ºPrimary use personal tablets/chromebooks and, other methodology, such as project based learning, is used across the school to inspire and motivate the students and support their learning. There is a wide range of extracurricular activities on offer including sports and music. Concerts, plays and musicals (in English or Spanish) are regular events and many pupils belong to the school sports teams (basketball, handball and football), competing in the local club or school leagues.
