Deputy Head (Academic)

A hugely exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic teacher willing to make a difference to the teaching and learning throughout the school and to join the senior management team at one of England’s leading prep schools.

This post will suit a current Head of Department or someone with similar experience who is looking to move up into management, or someone with Director of Studies or Academic Deputy Head experience, currently working at senior or junior level, who is looking to lead and shape the academic life at Cheam. Although Cheam is non-selective, it feeds many of England’s most academic schools, and the successful candidate will have the drive, determination, ability to think broadly and will inspire and lead both teachers and pupils to excel in all areas of teaching and learning.

We are looking for a fully qualified teacher who is a leader; who can communicate their thoughts and ideas. The successful candidate will be fully conversant with the landscape of learning facing children up to the age of 13 in the independent sector.

A generous package including accommodation is available for the successful candidate.

Closing date for applications: Friday, 13th October 2017.

Long list interviews: 18th October 2017.

Short list interviews: 6th/7th November 2017.

Job starts: April or September 2018.
