Deputy Head

An exciting opportunity has arisen at this large and expanding 2 form entry school with Nursery, for an experienced and dynamic Deputy Head to join the Headship team in order to further secure La Moye’s success and continuous improvement. The existing roles and responsibilities of this post are likely to grow in line with States wide developments in school leadership. The school is in a strong position with a long record of high standards and progress and a well-motivated staff team. It enjoys the support of its local community, has a fully inclusive intake and well-managed school budget which is supplemented by the school improvement and consultancy work which the Head teacher undertakes. When the Head teacher is engaged in this work the successful applicant will act as Head of School so previous experience as an existing Deputy or Assistant Head is essential. The appointee will be supported by an Assistant Head teacher and a strong and well established leadership team. The school enjoys a fully distributed leadership structure. The position will be non-class based so that a full and active role in leadership of the school is possible. Within this structure it is expected that innovative practices can be developed and new initiatives trialled, some of which will be new to Jersey. A number of La Moye staff already support island wide initiatives such as Moderation and the Early Years Advisory Team and this type of professional development is actively encouraged.
