The Role

This is a revised senior post reflecting the exciting developments and future of the school. We are committed to creating a curriculum that is adaptive, collaborative, innovative and academically rigorous and developing strategies to improve outcomes and foster independent, lifelong learning. The main focus of the role is to oversee all areas of learning, teaching and innovation at the Falcons Preparatory School for Boys with an emphasis on providing high quality learning opportunities for all. The Deputy Head - Learning and Innovation will be expected to act as a pioneer in developing new initiatives and innovative pedagogy.

We wish to appoint a dynamic and inspirational individual to join an exciting and well-resourced department. A willingness to play a part in the co-curricular programme and to be a pastoral tutor would be an advantage.

The School

Falcons Preparatory School is an independent day school for boys from 7-13 years based in Richmond upon Thames, west London. Founded in 2008 the School has quickly grown to 170 pupils. FSPB combines a rigorous academic education with developing confident, assured boys who experience a diverse, challenging curriculum and a supportive pastoral programme.

Throughout the year, the school has the use of Westminster Playing Fields, Richmond Athletic Ground, where we also have a flourishing partnership with London Scottish Rugby Club and Richmond Cricket Club, which again is walking distance from the school as is the swimming pool. The school is a vibrant community where boys are encouraged, nurtured and motivated at every turn by a talented and committed staff. There are many opportunities for boys to grow academically; on the sports field; artistically; on stage; and to take leadership responsibilities in many different areas providing them with a broad educational experience.

The school bus service covers Hammersmith, Turnham Green, Chiswick, Ealing and is located close to Richmond train station and excellent bus services. A St Margaret’s, Twickenham and Isleworth bus service is planned in the near future. The School has a strong presence in the local community holding weekly assemblies at St John the Divine and our Speech Day at Richmond Theatre.

The Alpha Plus Group offers an attractive remuneration package.
