Hillview International is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head (High School) who will be responsible for helping lead the further development of the High School as well as the overseeing the overall holistic welfare of high school students.
This is a high profile and demanding position.   The successful applicant will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team of Hillview International and will lead the High School.   It is suited to a high calibre professional who combines exceptional leadership skills with significant experience in developing a school.  It will require a teaching commitment.

Hillview High School opened its doors in 2015 and currently offers a Year 7 and Year 8 programme following a British based curriculum.   The Year 9 class will open in September 2017.  The plan is to develop the school to an IGCSE school, writing the first IGCSE in the 2019/20 academic year.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A confident leader, with an open and inclusive style who is able to maintain and develop the strong sense of community within the school.
  • International in outlook and has an appreciation of the richness that a diversity of cultures brings to Hillview International.
  • A resilient individual who thrives in the excitement and challenges of living in a developing country
  • An all-round leader with strong academic, pastoral, leadership and administrative skills to staff and senior management levels.
  • A team player who is able to effectively support and contribute to the three person leadership team.: Headmaster, Deputy Head Primary, Deputy Head High School.
  • An outstanding leader who can Lead, Care and Inspire the teaching faculty to create an exceptional learning environment for the students.
  • Strong in communication skills and style, demonstrating enthusiasm and energy in all interactions with the school community and able to inspire young people from all cultures.
  • An experienced and excellent secondary teaching professional (and will be expected to teach his/her major subject)
  • An individual who respects the school aims and values.

Situated in Limbe/Blantyre, in the 'Warm Heart of Africa', Hillview International School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, all-through independent school in Malawi, serving students from the ages of 2-16.
