DEPUTY HEAD of 6th FORM & TEACHER OF ECONOMICS
Start Date: September 2023
Salary Range: MPS-UPS + TLR2a
£34,502 to £53,482 per annum (inner London)
TLR 2A: £3,017
We are seeking to appoint a talented and committed Head of Year 12 to contribute to the on-going success of SFH6. SFH6 is an extremely successful KS5 provision which has consistently produced the best KS5 outcomes in the borough for several years. SFH6 reflects the inclusive ethos of both schools and provides study routes for students wishing to pursue A Levels, as well as those embarking on level 2 and 3 vocational pathways.
As the head of Year 12 at Forest Hill you will continue the drive for excellence which has seen SFH6 achieve the success described above. Over the last few years we have seen significant increases in the numbers of students progressing to Russell group universities, as well as having students gaining Oxbridge places for the last five years.
The successful candidate will work with the Head of Sixth Form, to lead a team of tutors to future success.
Economics is a popular subject at A ‘level with exceptional results.

Pupils study a broad and interesting curriculum. The school has carefully considered the important knowledge that they want pupils to study. In the sixth form, a wide range of A-level choices is supplemented by several different vocational qualifications. Within subjects, the chosen topics of study have been put together in a logical way. This helps pupils to build on their prior knowledge so they learn more and remember more over time. This means that, from the start, pupils are well prepared for the rigour of GCSEs and for sixth-form studies. Leaders also make sure that content is relevant and interesting for pupils.
