Our IT/Computing provision enjoys a range of state of the art equipment and resources at our Parson's Walk site.  Our courses are delivered across 16-18, 19 + and HE levels as well as the growing area of apprenticeships and full cost recovery provision.

The team are looking for a motivated and committed leader to support the Deputy Head of Computing to achieve the aims of the provision , continue to achieve excellent success rates, and develop an innovative curriculum offer to continue to meet employer needs whilst increasing student numbers.

Wigan & Leigh College’s philosophy is outstanding teaching and high achievement to ensure our students are prepared for the world of work. This role will play a key part in this aim working with students, employers and apprentices to move the provision forward.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
