Working closely with the Head of Construction, you will need to be a dynamic and inspirational leader whilst having a clear focus on successful outcomes for learners. You will require a thorough understanding of quality processes with a focus on improvement in teaching, learning and assessment, whilst ensuring that your areas of responsibility across the construction department are compliant with all college systems and policies. Qualified to at least Level 3 in Plumbing, you will be required to teach a number of hours as agreed with the Head, demonstrating high standards of teaching, learning and attainment, and ensuring continuous improvement to support positive student outcomes.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time.
Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
