Empower young minds: Be a Deputy Head of English and champion excellence in English education! We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Deputy Head of English to join our dedicated team of practitioners in delivering a curriculum which informs, transforms, and generates a lifelong love of learning. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to have an impact and shape the English department.

We're looking for someone to:

  • Work with the Curriculum Team Leader to ensure the quality of teaching and learning continues to meet the high aspirations of our learners, providing them with the skills, knowledge and qualifications required for success in their chosen next steps
  • Play an ongoing role in curriculum refinement and development
  • Assist with maintaining and developing a rigorous system of monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of teaching and learning and student outcomes across the curriculum
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for innovation and willingness to explore new teaching methods.

About The Magna Carta School

The Magna Carta School is an 11-16 academy in the Unity Schools Trust based in Staines-Upon-Thames, with approximately 1100 students on role. The school is a founder member of The Unity Schools Trust and the 1215 Learning Partnership, determined to enhance lives for young people across this area of Surrey.

The school has a long and proud tradition of educating students from our local community.
