Learner Support is a well-established, successful and expanding service that provides support to learners on mainstream courses only from level 1 to 4 and across all vocational areas. We were graded as Good by Ofsted in 2016 for providing high needs support alongside the curriculum teams who provide discrete provision.

Following the promotion of the previous manager, we are looking for a Deputy Head of Service to manage the academic (specialist teachers in specific learning difficulties and speech and language therapy) support service; along with part of the support provision for learners with for example physical disabilities, medical conditions, mental health issues.

You will be a qualified teacher with a proven track record as a successful manager in the learner support and specific learning difficulties field. You will have a very good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and its practical application; alongside JCQ requirements for exam access arrangements.

You will have excellent organisational and leadership skills to share good practice and manage teams across at least two Colleges including Merton College. You will also be a successful budget manager and have the skills to effectively manage, analyse and report on relevant data.
