We are seeking an excellent teacher who is ready to play a decisive role on the leadership of our Maths department, particularly in key stage five, contributing to strategic leadership and leading exceptional teaching in Maths. We are particularly keen to find a candidate with experience of and appetite for leadership of the KS5 curriculum, where we teach maths and further maths in our rapidly expanding sixth form.
KSA is rare in that it is a genuine all-through school. Our pupils join at 3 years old and stay with us until they are 18. By joining KSA you play a part in showing what is possible when children’s education is seen as a long term commitment. Professionally, it also provides teachers and leaders with a unique opportunity to have impact across all phases of education. We are growing a team of exceptionally committed teachers and leaders who value each and every year of a child’s education equally. If you too are motivated to redress educational disadvantage in the UK, King Solomon Academy is beginning to show what is possible and you could be part of defining the future of education in our country.
Our track-record in maths is exceptional. We adopt a mastery approach in Key Stage 2 and 3, meaning that our pupils have more time and explicit teaching of the skills and concepts that underpin long term success in maths. In KS2 Sats, over 85% of pupils achieved at age related expectations. Although above national averages within a challenging context, we are committed to significantly improving these results to make them as dramatically ground-breaking as in Key Stage 4, where we have achieved nationally outlying outcomes. In GCSE 70% of our pupils achieved B or higher, and the progress in pupils has been in the top 1% for the last three years. Due to our success in maths lower down the school, the majority of pupils choose maths at A-level with a small number choosing further maths. The extremely positive learning culture around maths provides a unique springboard for the teaching of maths to a very high level.
