Newbridge School is a three times graded outstanding school for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties aged 2-19, including learners who have additional needs such ASD, medical needs, sensory impairments and associated behaviour. The school is based on two sites – Lower School in Gresham Drive for pupils between the ages of 2 and 11 and the Upper School in Barley Lane for those aged 11 to 19.

We are seeking an outstanding Deputy Head of School who will work closely with the Head of School in the operational leadership and management of the Upper School on the Barley Lane site.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Deputy Head of School who:

  • has proven leadership and management skills at a senior level in an educational setting for pupils with diverse needs and can ensure the effective day to day organisation of the school, and can deliver and develop a high quality of education for all pupils, continually improving standards of teaching and learning across the school.
  • can work in partnership with the Executive Headteacher, Head of School, members of the senior leadership team, Governing Body and other stakeholders to create a clear vision, direction and operational framework for the school.
  • is forward thinking and creative in their approach to school leadership, committed to making a strong contribution to the development of the school.
  • can build effective, positive relationships and work collaboratively with all stakeholders including parents/carers, therapy teams and other specialist services to support the development of the pupils and ensure the best outcomes possible.
