Hampton College is an established, successful, all-through school, which formed its own multi-academy trust (Hampton Academies Trust - HAT) in 2014. The Trust is also the education provider for the neighbouring secondary school, Hampton Gardens School and Hampton Lakes Primary School, which opened in September 2019. In 2020, Dogsthorpe Infant School joined our Trust. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff. 

Hampton College currently serves the community of Hampton, on the southern outskirts of the city of Peterborough and has excellent links to London, Cambridge and Stamford.

This is a post arising from the current post holder’s promotion to Headteacher and is an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team of a happy, popular and very successful school. Whilst the role is currently leading on behaviour we are keen to appoint the best candidate for the school and so have left the precise details of the position open. 

We are, however, seeking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Head of School to: 

  • Work closely with the Head of School (Secondary Phase) to take the school on the next phase of its journey ‘from Good to Great’
  • Help shape the strategic direction of the school to build on our significant strengths
  • Maintain a sharp focus on raising progress and attainment within a calm, caring and aspirational environment
  • Be an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated leader with a visible presence around the school
  • Be a leader who is an excellent teacher and communicator who cares deeply about the prospects of young people and is passionate about education within a comprehensive system
  • Work with a collaborative and talented Senior Leadership Team and dedicated governing body

Vision and values

The school’s motto is "progress, partnership and pride". Teachers aim to provide the right learning environment and tools to allow each student to reach their potential. They strive to value every individual's unique talents, beliefs and cultures, and to promote a positive ethos that values respect, responsibility and participation. Students are supported to grow spiritually, morally, socially and culturally.

At its core, the curriculum prioritises English, maths, science and ICT. It provides a broad range of other subjects including drama, music, RE, history, geography, languages and media studies.
