Preston Manor’s Science department is high achieving one, with a P8 score of 0.6; significantly above national average, and in the highest 20% of all schools for the last three years. We are looking for an excellent teacher to support in leading this committed department and to continue to build on its existing strengths and successes.

The successful candidate will have the vision, creativity and experience to drive the continued development of the Science department. All students study Science to GCSE, with 30% of the KS4 cohort selected to study the separate sciences (50% achieving grades 7-9). The sciences also have a high uptake at KS5, where we offer A’levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well as Applied Science, showing how popular and valued Science is at Preston Manor School. They will join an energetic school which strives to ensure that all students enjoy learning and surpass expectations of achievement.

The successful candidate would be expected to be able to teach at all Key Stages. They will take on the full responsibility for a key stage and/or lead a course within the Science faculty. They will be expected to support in leading the department as a whole and will line manage key post holders within the Faculty.
