Mill Hill School, founded in 1807, is seeking a Deputy Head Pastoral for September 2017, to play a pivotal role in the newly devised forward-looking strategy, building on the non-Conformist values and principles of its founders.

The postholder will provide direction and leadership in all aspects of the excellent pastoral provision in the school, enhancing and enriching this dimension of pupil experience.

An experienced teacher is sought, with a rich understanding of the breadth of the pastoral arena for all pupils and who can inspire and motivate staff and the wider school community.

He or she will have:

Proven and highly successful experience in school leadership either as an outstanding and high-flying head of department, an experienced Housemaster / Housemistress, or an existing member of a senior leadership team, possessing the flair and energy to take on another major challenge

A collegiate and collaborative team-player capable when necessary of decisive management with an instinctive feel for the correct relationship between senior leadership and all staff

Best practice as a confident and impressive teacher / communicator, in the classroom and beyond, who will command the interest and imagination of staff, pupils and parents, with kindness and integrity, always putting the needs of the pupils first.

About Mill Hill School

The Mill Hill School Foundation offers education to boys and girls aged between 3 and 18 in its four Schools. The Schools occupy a magnificent 160 acres of beautiful grounds just 10 miles from Central London with easy access to underground and main line stations.

Mill Hill School is the senior school in the Foundation and the largest in our group, catering to boys and girls aged 13-18. We offer weekly and full boarding, although the majority of students are day pupils.
