Pangbourne College is looking to appoint a Deputy Head Pastoral to join our Senior Leadership Team and to be a strategic and progressive pastoral leader for our pupils and staff.

The role will be to lead and continue to develop the pastoral life at the College, through collaboration with the Assistant Head Pupil Wellbeing and Assistant Head Boarding to provide an outstanding boarding and pupil welfare experience.  

The Deputy Head Pastoral will be accountable for all safeguarding and child protection compliance. They will also be our Designated Safeguarding Lead and manage a team of DDSLs. 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career into senior leadership having already gained experience at middle leader level.  

We need someone who can work in a fast paced and sometimes challenging environment, you will be focused, inspirational, and be able to lead and achieve results through teamwork.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner and bring passion and enthusiasm to your subject along with the ability to teach proactive and focused lessons at KS3, 4 and 5. You will hold a relevant degree and teaching qualification along with the desire and dedication to ensure high standards of pupil progression and attainment.

Daily school transport services are available from Ascot, Basingstoke, Henley/Wargrave, Maidenhead, Newbury and Wantage.

In November 2019, the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) rated the college as ‘Excellent’ for both the academic and personal development of its pupils. It said: ‘Pupils demonstrate exemplary attitudes to learning: they respond to academic challenge with energy and purpose.’
