Sacriston Academy is a true community school. Many parents and grandparents were pupils here and together share a real sense of community spirit and pride in our school, working with us to promote a culture of high expectations and celebrations of achievements. As part of this, we are always looking for ways to make learning 'irresistible' and creating as many opportunities as possible for children to engage, develop, innovate and express their learning.

In 2021 we were rated as 'Good' by Oftsed with 'outstanding' in three out of five inspection areas - behaviour and attitudes, personal development and early years' provision.

Making sure our children adapt to new challenges, find inspiration, develop their curiosity and work creatively is key to our approach, meaning children experience many successes and get the maximum benefit from their time with us.

About the North East Learning Trust (NELT)

In 2017 we were sponsored by the North East Learning Trust, a successful, multi-academy education trust. The trust is made up of seven secondary schools (including four sixth forms), four primary schools, a teacher training provider, North East SCITT, a national Research School and a National Teaching School Hub.

Read our NELT brochure here or visit our website here to find out more.
