The children, staff and governors of Millbrook Primary School are looking for an inspirational, forward thinking practitioner with proven leadership skills to fill the post of Deputy Head teacher at our school. The Deputy Head teacher will inspire and support an enthusiastic team, be an excellent and innovative teacher, communicate well with all stakeholders and play an active part in our community centered school. The successful candidate will uphold our school motto of: ‘Learning about caring, caring about learning” through working in partnership with the whole school and local community. They will be expected to build on our achievements and be committed to providing a rich and creative curriculum that meets the learning needs of our children and enables all to reach their full potential. The successful candidate will be someone who is ready for a new challenge in a continually improving school.

We are looking for somebody who:

  • Is an excellent role model and effective at leading, motivating and supporting a team
  • Has the ability to lead learning and teaching ensuring there are exciting, creative, challenging and empowering learning opportunities within the Literacy and Numeracy Framework throughout the school and in line with recommendations from The Donaldson Report
  • Has proven ability as a creative and inspirational practitioner with a commitment to high standards
  • Is an excellent team worker, who is able to work alongside other senior leaders within the school
  • Has experience of the day to day management of a school
  • Has resilience, energy, flexibility, enthusiasm and is driven
  • Has highly effective organisation skills
  • Has proven ability to lead, challenge and empower children and colleagues
  • Is able to embrace community partnerships and play an active role in fostering good links with parents
  • Committed to further developing and strengthening effective community relationships and be willing to represent the school in a range of out of school activities and events
