Are you – or could you be – our aspirational and inspirational deputy head teacher?

Do you want to join us in a school with a vision to be the best, where every child:

· embraces learning as a demanding lifelong journey, because all of us show them how to love challenge and growth;

· feels proud of who they are and their own uniqueness, because all of us celebrate difference; and

· leaves the gate with fond memories, a creative outlook and a sense of excitement for the road ahead, because all of us have put them at the centre of everything we do?

Lancasterian Primary is a two form entry school in the heart of Tottenham, a busy, exciting and energetic part of London. We are proud of our diverse, welcoming and enthusiastic learning community. The leadership team has a clear vision to ensure that all children and adults at the school have the opportunity to thrive and excel. The school continues to develop following our May 2017 ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement, building upon recent improvements in our EYFS and Key Stage 1 outcomes in order to raise pupil achievement across the school. We are looking for a deputy head that embodies our values of inclusion, lifelong learning, growth mindset, integrity, high aspiration and respect to take a leading role in driving the school forward.

Are you the deputy head teacher that can help us to become the best?

For successful candidates we offer:

  • eager and motivated pupils with plenty of spark and energy and a real thirst for learning;
  • the opportunity to take a key role in having a  real, positive impact on children’s lives;
  • the opportunity to lead on raising achievement through driving curriculum development and further enhancing quality first  teaching;
  • motivated and cohesive teaching and support staff  that champion children's progress and well-being;
  • a supportive senior leadership team who adhere to the ‘growth mindset’ philosophy and understand that school improvement and staff well-being must go hand in hand;
  • fantastic professional development and career enhancement opportunities;
  • excellent ICT facilities with interactive Clevertouch screens in each classroom; and
  • excellent transport links.

You:

· a qualified teacher with extensive additional training in teaching, learning and leadership;

· an outstanding classroom practitioner with excellent knowledge and understanding of the Foundation Stage and KS1/2 National Curriculum and experience of teaching across the primary age range, particularly at key stage 2 level;

· passionate and committed to raising achievement for pupils from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, with recent experience in this area;

· a strategic thinker who knows how to translate vision into practice;

· experienced in school leadership and in successfully managing teams of people;

· experienced in working with families from diverse backgrounds and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for children;

· an expert in formative and summative assessment, familiar with all end of key stage assessment processes;

· self-motivated with the drive and energy to work effectively, particularly when dealing with complex school improvement issues;

· able to prioritise, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to a deadline; and

· friendly and approachable with excellent communication and organisational skills.
