As Deputy Head Teacher at Queensmead House School, part of the Witherslack Group, you will have the chance to lead and shape our school and deliver the kind of education you always wanted to.

As Deputy Head Teacher you will provide inspirational leadership coupled with strong management and communication skills. That’s why we’re looking for someone who’s pretty unique. Ultimately, you’re an outstanding teacher and leader who has a genuine passion and working knowledge of SEN. But, as importantly, you’re someone who is resilient, innovative and has the type of enthusiasm that’s infectious, so that you bring about change in a positive way. You’re also sensitive, respectfully challenging, patient and kind: just the type of leader our young people, staff and community can relate to.

Queensmead House School is a co-educational, independent specialist day school, providing high quality education. Based in Windsor, the school meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.

We strongly believe that people should have choice and flexibility when it comes to saving for future. As such we offer membership of the Teachers Pensions Scheme if you are eligible to join the scheme. We also offer a flexible alternative option to the Teachers Pension Scheme that allows you to opt out and receive an allowance of 15% of your base salary and free life insurance. About Queensmead House School

About Queensmead House School

The stunning Queensmead House School is on the same site as the former Queensmead School, which has wonderful views of Windsor Castle and offers a truly inspirational environment for our young people. Queensmead House School is a co-educational, independent specialist day school, providing the highest standards of education and care for children and young people, between the ages of 11 and 19 years, with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviours. The school will be one of our largest, with capacity of up to 130 young people, 90 of whom will be in the Secondary provision. We would expect the school to reach optimum capacity by 2024; that’s 130 children and young people’s lives we can make a real difference to across the region!

Like all of our schools, Queensmead House School will benefit from excellent staffing ratios, highly resourced learning environments and endless academic and vocational options. The site has been a school since 1948 and our property team are working to ensure that it offers an inspirational learning environment where our young people can thrive. The school will include a full size sports hall, MUGA, and specialist classrooms for science, food technology, DT and computing. Pupils will be supported in small class sizes (maximum of 8), by well qualified and experienced staff who are able to offer an extensive range of academic, practical, vocational, sport and leisure activities, to support both a young person’s educational achievements and social and communication skills.

About Witherslack Group

We are dedicated to fulfilling the hope of every parent by releasing their child’s full potential.

We want every young person to get the most from life. We aim to maximise their opportunities while giving parents and carers peace of mind. At the same time, our expert blend of therapeutic, emotional and educational support provides unmatched value for local authorities. We focus on each child, giving them stability and support they need. Across all Witherslack Group settings, the model that we implement is our ‘Internal Team Around the Child (ITAC)’ approach. This approach ensures that young people have access to cohesive services and all the relevant practitioners concerned with an individual young person meet regularly. This ensures the services delivered are integrated, prioritised, coherent and achieve their intended outcomes.

We are the leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties (autistic spectrum conditions, Asperger’s Syndrome, speech, language and communication needs), complex learning needs and challenging behaviours. Seeing a young person learn, smile and grow is incredibly rewarding. At Witherslack Group you and your team will have far more than just a job, you'll have a career where you’re free and supported to grow with us!
