Job overview

With 850 pupils aged from 3 to 13, Dulwich Prep London is the largest boys’ independent prep school in the UK. This is a new management position for the school. We are seeking to appoint a school leader of experience, exceptional intellectual rigour and vision to help shape our pupil performance and our school’s academic growth. The Deputy Head will track, analyse and communicate the academic progress and trajectory of each boy as he progresses through the school. Approximately one hundred Year 8 pupils transfer annually to upwards of 28 different senior schools achieving excellent results (55 scholarships and awards won, to date, in 2017).

The successful candidate will exhibit the personal drive, ambition and skillset to lead and manage this critical phase of each boy’s prep career.

This long-established and well-known preparatory school educates boys aged 3 to 13 (girls 3 to 4), preparing them for entrance and scholarship examinations to independent London day schools and boarding schools across the country. Re-branded in 2011, the school aims to challenge boys in their pursuit of excellence and to inspire each pupil to realise his full potential. Sport, Music and Art are encouraged to a high standard. There are many out-of-school activities, including a wide variety of holiday trips.

The main ages for entry are at three, four and seven years, with smaller entries at five and eight. There are occasional vacancies at other ages.
