Job overview

Come and join this thriving IAPS prep school (310 on roll) in Putney, South West London. The successful candidate, who must be a qualified teacher and inspirational leader with very clear communication skills, will play an important part in the day to day running of the school. He or she will currently be a member of the senior leadership team and will not be class based but will be expected to offer a core subject at upper KS2. A willingness to take part in extra-curricular life is also important.

In addition to being a superb teacher, the candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude to school life and will be prepared to lead and manage by example. Candidates should relish all the professional challenges posed at the most senior level.

For more information about Prospect House please visit www.prospecths.org.uk. Applicants should go to the House Schools website at http://www.houseschools.com/jobs.php to download a job description, an application form and a set of pre-interview questions.

The closing date for applications will be Friday 13th January but an early application may well be preferred. All the completed application paperwork should be emailed to jobs@prospecths.org.uk.    References will be essential.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with previous employers and an enhanced check with the Criminal Records Bureau.

This job arises from the promotion of the current deputy head to the headship, in succession to the current head who will retire next summer. The rôle is professionally rewarding and fun: we aim to foster the professional development of all our staff and the school is proud that three previous deputies have after some years moved on to be promoted to prestigious headships in their own right.
